Welcome to the Multimedia Club of Sun City Anthem! Our vibrant community is composed of residents who share a passion for the diverse world of multimedia, encompassing video, sound, images, data, and text. We come together to educate, inspire, and train each other while having fun creating projects we can proudly share with our families, friends, and online audiences. Whether you're a seasoned creator or just starting your multimedia journey, our club offers a welcoming space for collaboration and creativity.

TGIF MULTIMEDIA MESSAGE JAN 17TH

Our  "GET SMART" EVENT last night in the Nelson room at Independence Center was well attended and very informative.  To see what you missed, keep reading for some of the highlights and links. 

1. Happy Birthday songs were gleefully sung  for Frank Johnson, Dianne Davis and Patrick Herrera.  Happy Bday to all our Capricorns and Sagatarians! 

2. New members were introduced and we passed the mic to our current  members and guests so everyone could get acquainted.  We learned about projects, goals and what our members want to learn this year.  

3. Mike Molony gave a preview of our February 20th AI Music and Arts Showcase in the Nelson room 5- 7:00 plus refreshments.  Put it on your calendar because it is MINDBLOWING!  You will see 40 examples of AI Art and hear the many music tracks created in several genres. You will be able to converse with Mike and other members about AI,printing options and techniques.  Learn about custom creations. 

4. Dennis Palsgaard, Treasurer  revealed our exciting new classes  for learning the many disciplines of Multimedia.  Please send an email and tell us what you want to learn.   Artificial Intelligence,  Writing, Video, YouTube, Editing, Producing, Directing, Graphics, Images, Apps, Streaming, Ken Burns effects, Voice overs, Reporting, Interviews, On camera make up, Teleprompter, Animation or ?    Check the calendar on the website multimedia.scaclub.org  often for new dates as our requests have not yet been confirmed with Lifestyle committee and Activities.  Sorry, No workshops in January.  Hopefully in February. 

5. Don Hill -  attended the yearly Consumer Electronics Show last week on the strip. CES Media Days kicked off at Mandalay Bay, January 5-6th.   You can watch many CES videos on YouTube.  https://www.ces.tech/press-releases/dive-in-to-the-future-ces-2025-opens-today/ Don showed us photos of the latest drone technology.   FYI - the NJ drones were Walmart practicing with their delivery drones.   No alien spys!      Aerial photography class to be announced. Interested in attending CES in 26?

6. The National Association of Broadcasters Convention is April 5th to 9th.  https://www.nabshow.com/  Let us know if you are interested and we will send the registration code.  Free exhibit. 

7.  We have an invitation from our MM  member, writer Tom Lee, to attend and review the dress rehearsal for his  "Charlie Sees the Light." at Freedom Hall this month.  Many of our members are in the production and tickets for the performances are at https://pac.scaclub.org/  or Activities office. Just $15If you are unable to attend on the show dates send us an email.  The dress rehearsal will be a start and stop situation and perhaps re-dos but better than missing it entirely and they appreciate an audience for feedback.  It's a terrific show!  

8. Our own  Hollywood Movie producer Frank E Johnson gave us an update on his filming schedule starting this month for "The Genesis Project" on location in Utah.   Congratulations Frank!

9. Linda Molony gave us her review of the Golden Globes which is absolutely worth a look on YouTube if you missed them!  First time for a solo female host.   

10. Bob Bush announced that 'Bob Bush and Friends' are entertaining at Buckman's  restaurant  February 26th with an Island theme. More info to follow.   Make reservations for dinner and show at Opentable.com 

11.  Suggestions for location shoots and discovery tours - Tell us if you are interested.   Southern Nevada Railway, Boulder, Goodsprings, Pioneer Inn. 

Thank you to Kim Keels and Kathy Dauenhauer for meet and greet sign- ins.   We need more helpers on our social and secretarial committees.  Can you help?   Please get your 2025 renewal dues in if you have not yet done so.   We want to see more of you in 25.

TGIF - UPDATES, SAVE THE DATE JANUARY 16 DON'T MISS IT!

LATEST NEWS!

First of all - Prayers for our friends, families, former colleagues and neighbors who were living in the communities in California engulfed and devastated by fire.  It looks like Lahaina, Maui  August 2023.    So very sad.  Several studios have shut down, lives have been lost and LA will not be the same for quite some time.

Google Calendar 2025 is a good one.  

  • January 16th - Topic "How are you doing on your New Year's Resolutions, goals, bucket list etc" and how can we help.    This evening will be all about tips and apps to help you attain those goals.   We also have a FUN Brain Buster segment - Name that Elvis tune from his movies and other movie and TV questions.    Updates on what is happening at SCA that will impact the clubs, ours in particular will be part of our discussion.   Reports from 2 committees - facilities and landscape and Community Lifestyle Committee plus general news you might have missed.   Have you signed on to the new website?  Let us know your thoughts and questions.   
  • February 20th - check out our website story about  the AMAZING AI Showcase - Music and Art by Mike Molony that will be presented from 5:00 to 7:00 in the Nelson room. Conversation on how AI can help you create.  Refreshments will be served and conversation is sure to be enlightening. 

The Restaurant situation and staff changes have caused some scheduling problems at Independence and we still do not have space yet for workshops in January.   Hopefully by February we will be back on track.     On the list are:  On Camera makeup, Reporter class, AI editing, creative writing, Make compelling videos and how to make a YouTube video that will get hits!

 PLEASE help us get our class space by sending an email saying what you learned or accomplished from our workshops in 2024 and what you are hoping to learn in 2025.  In the meantime we can still mentor so if you need anything email multimediasca.com.

Studio time is still Tuesday.   If you have an idea to pitch let us know.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

New Website is up - check it out! https://www.scahoa.com/  -  You will see clips of the Video that SCATV  was involved in producing in 2013 called "The Good Life".   Some deja vu moments!  I see some of you in the video.    You will have to re enter your SCA# and info and check remember me.  Did you forget your password too?   LOL 

DID YOU READ YOUR SPIRIT magazine?  With your HOA refund you can renew your dues for the Multimedia club! LOL  Just put a check or $10 bill in the Multimedia mailbox at the Fitness Center.   Checks payable to Sun City Anthem Community Association Inc.  memo line Multimedia.   Even if you don't attend meetings we appreciate your continued support to keep our numbers over 100 and our club Alive! 

Lots of SCA News for the New Year.   For those of you who have not read your Eblast  or have not signed up for it, Saturday is the last day for Western Hospitality Group at the Yorktown Grill.  I spoke with our President Donna Griffith yesterday and she said  there is another company coming in to serve breakfast and happy hour and they are talking with other companies to manage going forward.   Farewell happy hour tonight.  More information to follow.

Have you got a name to replace "Community Chronicles" for our SCA weekly newsletters?   If so please send in so I can present some suggestions at the Communication Governance Committee meeting next Wednesday.   The name was changed from" Eblast" to Chronicles by Doug Bradford, Communications manager who is no longer with us.   Most think it's too old and stuffy and needs a new name. 

New Year's Resolution - take more classes at the Computer Club!  

We are still working on dates for our classes at Independence with Community Lifestyles which oversees clubs and Activities dept.    You can go directly to our website at multimedia.scaclub.org.    More info is in the SPIRIT this month which you should have.   I welcome any moral support next Friday for the CLC meeting 9:30 Arlington room Anthem Center.  We have teaching in our charter and need space to do that.

Yes, it's that time of year for New Year's Resolutions, bucket lists, to do lists, round TUITS and all the things we didn't accomplish in 2024. That's OK.  Life sometimes gets in the way.    But we have  12 months ahead to learn, co create and have fun doing it. 


 

Our website calendar is being added to every day with events, projects, wish lists, mentoring and more.  What do you want to learn, share or do this year?   Let us hear from you so we can help make it happen!  

We have classes for writers, editors, photography, reporting, AI and much more coming up on our class workshop so sign up for what you want to learn in an atmosphere that is not intimidating.

We are also in need of helpers to do simple tasks as well.  An hour or 2 a month - Crew, Social committee, secretarial and more.   You don't have to be a techie to belong to our Multimedia Club.

SCA Multimedia Club Leadership Team Election Results & Officers for 2025

As always, our thanks to all members for their support and involvement in the activities of the SCA Multimedia Club.

On November 7, an election meeting was held in the Independence Center to vote on the club's Leadership Team for 2025.

Members voted to the Leadership Team by acclimation are as follows:

Following the election, MMC Leadership met on 11/23 and chose the officers who volunteered to continue on through 2025
